RAY
CARRASCO GOLF BIO
In 2004 Ray won the prestigious Ryder Cup Wales Senior Open. Ray had a great start in the
2003 European Seniors Tour by winning the 2003 Digicel Jamaica Classic in Montego Bay. In the 2002 season, Ray won the
Travis Perkins Senior British Masters @ Wentworth Club.
Ray is the oldest of 15 children of Ray and Delia Carrasco
of Garden Grove, California. When Ray was a boy, he got hooked on golf by watching Sam Snead and Roberto de Vicenzo on
television.
Ray bought his first clubs by selling newspapers. He read numerous articles about golfing, and instructional
articles from golf magazines.
Ray landscaped his back yard to resemble a miniature golf course - complete with putting
green, sandtrap and "rough".
Ray started winning golf tounaments, and at 16 years old was an All-CIF Player for Garden
Grove High School.
In 1965 Ray played on the California State Championship Junior College Golf Team at Santa Ana College.
In
1968 Ray was an All-Conference Player while attending San Diego State University.
In the early 1970's, Ray played
on the U.S. PGA Tour, and later on the European Tour. Ray was successful playing the Mini-Tours in the U.S. -winning
OVER 100 of them, before turning 50 in 1997.
Ray qualified for the European Seniors Tour in 1998.
For 16 years
he was a teaching professional at Laguna Hills Golf Range.
With his established position in the world of Golf -Ray
has donated his time over the years for various charitable causes, including the Ocean Institute, The Wise Place-Womans Shelter,
L.A. and Orange Counties' Juvenile Halls, and the Newport Beach Sport Museum.
Ray is a sought after Motivational
Speaker, writes instructional articles for golf magazines, and is also featured in Golf Instructional Videos.
Ray is
married to Suzanne, has a son Ryan and a daughter Ali.
